Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Draisaitl as the trailer was Michkovs man w Sanheim out of the play having crashed into the boards in Ozone… instead he did a fly by to go cherry pick

Horrendous defensive effort
Terrible zone coverage. No debate.
He went to the boards for an outlet. That isn't a cherry pick.

But if you rewind the video you will see McDavid getting schooled and then from my view take a penalty (uncalled).

So ya. Players make mistakes. Even McDavid.

Edit: McDavid and Leon make a lot of players look and act stupid. Especially when it's 3 on 3. I wouldn't dwell on it.

Michkov’s trajectory is not to the boards in Dzone, which would’ve been an acceptable mistake to make especially for a rookie, its for a breakout towards Center ice… that’s classic “waiving I’m wide open over here cherry picking precursor play”

I guess our definition of cherry picking is different. So I'll let it get go.

To me the worse part is that he works his way back into position but then fucks it up. But he was great last night. Outside of that play he was much better defensively than i was expecting but not as dynamic offensively as I was expecting.

Nobody is as thorough as Hughes , every detail is gone over

Brobov`s father works in the KHL

We know nothing on bypassing Michkov , I think he had no interest in Montreal
Too many details gone over in this case. Draft the talent. If you can't get him here in a couple of years, trade him. You might even get an Austrian defenceman. If you get nothing, so be it. Better to lose the player that way than make a mediocre pick.

A guy like Michkov has no interest in playing and living in Canada. He wants the US. No Canadian team was ever getting him to play for them. No US backwater market like Raleigh or Columbus was getting him either. The Habs would have wasted a 5th overall pick drafting him because he would never come to them.

Remember why all those teams ahead of the Habs also passed on Michkov. It's not because they didn't think he was a good player.
Do we really, I mean really, know he wouldn't come to them?

We dont need another Fox situation where fuckhead only goes to one team and you get a third rounder

Unless MM turns into Kaprizov , a legit top 20 talent in the game I dont give a shit

Trade him for pennies on the dollar once the rest of the league realizes that you have to trade him because he will never report.

This only happened because Fox limited his team choice to 1. Which might or not have been the case with Michkov, who knows.

There’s also the traditional calculus: projected top C & top pairing D have significantly more draft value than a W

It's also worst case scenarios for Reinbacher so far, almost lose a season of development because of a terrible situation with his Swiss team, then lose another one with injury. Exactly the worst scenario possible for his post-2 draft seasons.
