By the way, Poehling's establishing himself as a depth center and is probably going to have a 500+ game career in the league because of it. If you were to do a re-draft of 2017, he'd probably go around 25th again.

He was projected to be a strong 4C w ceiling of 3C at draft

That’s about how he was projected. He would definitely be in our starting lineup right now.

Yeah, but my whole point with that is, it's super easy to call a first round pick, a late one at that, a bust because... he's not a top-6 forward? Poehling got drafted where he should have and he's turned into an NHLer.

We've kept Pezzetta around for years, for reasons that are still unknown to me, but we couldn't with Poehling. C'est la vie.

Although he was part of the Matheson/Petry trade. I don’t know how much weight he had in that trade but surely a bit. Pezzetta has no value. He’s just a 13th forward that cause no issues.
