Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

And now that it's not working, a bunch of media types are now wondering what's happening in Nashville.

It's the most predictable thing ever. Give a shit ton of money and term to players who are just about to exit their prime (or already did), re-sign your 29 year old franchise goalie to an 8 year deal despite being a tad overrated and fuck it, we're gonna win now!

I didn't think they'd start off this badly, but this was always the most likely of outcomes.

Preds cant do shit with all their vets on no trade clauses

They have draft capital to move but no neck is doomed
My point stands. Their traceable assets are the first to go not their most expensive ones, whether it’s for a rebuild or to get back on track.

Detroit is a gong show.

I really thought Nashville might be a Cup contender. They overachieved last year and added known quantities. Long term risk with those contracts sure, but I thought they might just pull it off in the immediate present (next year or two) Really surprised how its going.

Sometimes it takes a few months to get going with new faces but preds were never going to be great.

They fucked up royally bringing in redundant vets when you already had Forsberg

They dont have that 1C to feed these dudes

This is what happens when you build your roster on a fantasy video game with a bottle of JD

maybe they took advice from Haliey Welch and Chelsea Bradford

Do Oilers fans really have any confidence in winning anything with Stuart Skinner? Seems to me he never makes a key save. And the Oilers looked completely out of sync in that game-no effort to put the Leafs away when they had the lead and, led by Bouchard, allowed the Leafs three late goals. Nothing going offensively outside of McDavid and Draisetl . Ron McLain, etc. are their usual giddy selves at the result. Ah well.. its November.

They'd already have a Cup last year if they could have got any type of credible goaltending.

You no longer need a Patrick Roy to win Cups but your goalie needs to not lose games all by himself.
