Core 4 No More: The Motherfucking Off-Season Thread

And let's even forget about bad goal or not. We just finally scored after climbing a fucking mountain since Game 5. Poised to win. A stoppable shot if he was just standing and not crouched or on his knees. He has to stop that shot.

It deflated the crap out of the team, which to its credit, didn't immediately fall apart. But momentum lasted for one minute before it swung back their way, and that was all Sammy not stepping up.
Also the same spot the Bs were targeting all damn series.

Staal's nerdies are great this playoff at least! But the leafs don't have a staal so Rod would fall in love with Kampf too. He has always overplayed gudpros. That's sorta his thing.
Yeah I’m a no on Brindy. Too many red flags with the Canes that remind me of our own.

I'd take him still. Just don't really understand the glamorizing. Easy to glamorize from afar where you don't see the flaws on a daily basis like we do with leafs coaches. He's a great motivator, not an X and O's guy and loves players that go balls to the wall for him/guys that give him good safe minutes. Nothing crippling. Just don't really see anything special.

More dump and chase, no rush offense, hard matching Kampf.

Plus they’d give him like a 10 year $10 mill deal and he’d get fired year 3.

Pressers would be more entertaining.

Really feel like this is where it started to go off the rails for us. When we started to lose to the Columbuses of the world and decided we needed gritty leaderbeans from teams that beat us instead of just adding more talent

Yep. That "Grit" narrative was EVERYWHERE and Leafs fell for it. The team is now so much less talented than before and so much slower.
Keefe in New Jersey would be interesting becase that's a small, fast, skilled team lacking "Grit" but no one will force them to get less talented.

I think this year it was style of play more than personnel. They had skill this year. Just chose to play dump and chase and no chance offense.

Going low skill on tbe blue line + their only pmd behind 44 melting under pressure again also hurt.
