And as you said, even in the offseason they decided the solution was an offensive d that can't defend. Then when that didn't work they decided the solution was defensive d that actively harm their transition game.

How about a two way d for once?
 
Our 4-5 year window is ahead of us with Matthews and Nylander. This is it for peak 34 and 88. First round picks and prospects that can’t help us through this period are on the table for me for top guys. Need to get some NFL in our management team and target top guys and go for it. Trade cap that isn’t performing. Fuck feelings of our players as we send them off for not performing. Just win.
 
If they're serious about change then you try to move Rielly and Tavares first. I'm sure they're fine human beings but a team "1000%" committed to winning is going to put serious effort there first before trading away younger better players.
