Without digging into the numbers or anything too much, Gallant seems like a guy who's had a good amount of success in a few cities now even if his shelf life has been short. Feel free to dig stuff up to convince me otherwise but he's a name that intrigues me.

The only thing is not all lugs are created equal. If you belive Friedman, which you should, Tree's first choice was Tanev and Zadorov. Dom has them as the 3rd and 7th best dmen in the playoffs so far. Boosh in 9, Manson 10, Suter 13, Johnson 21, Carlo 24, McNabb 29.

Edmundson was 99 and Benoit was 94.

For the record 6 x 16 = 96.

This totally ignores QoC though.

Tanev has been a monster for Dallas. Sometimes paying just a little bit more for the clearly superior player is worth it. Maybe Treliving learned a lesson there.

We've been doing this quantity over quality for a few years now, stocking up on 252 defensemen for a playoff run we never go on.

If that is Tanev on a short term do then do it. Should have gotten Gudas last offseason, mix of crazy/physical and is okay with the puck.

The general consensus on the board was that we didn't want Tanev and Zadorov because they were plodders and we wanted Hanifin, Walker, etc.

I’m good with Montour and Pesce, although my guess is they will probably be two of the higher paid July 1 players due to name value.

Think guys like Skjei and Walker will come cheaper than Montour, and Roy, Tanev cheaper than Pesce, and the former are just as good if not better.

Im pretty sure Skjei > Montour and i think Roy >>>> Pesce.

I don't miss the fake nerd, but I do miss what he learned from Lou about operational secrecy.

We can just assume now that everything we hear from the bigger talking heads is straight from our front office now.
