Fooooooooooooooooodddd

@Habs4ever she wants to be a chef and study in Paris. She's bright and she's tough. Thick skin (I prepare my kids for this) so I think she'll make it. Gordon Ramsey is her favorite and she says it's because he reminds her of me because of the mouth and take no shit.

Very good you are supporting your kid. Doesn't matter what their dream is. Because this is the most important. Sadly lots of immigrants have this mentality that the kid should become Dr, Engineer or lawyer, it is like there is no fcuking other thing to do in life and being happy.
I know plenty who became Dr, Engineer and lawyer mainly because of their parents f.up mentality and changed the field after.
Happy for both of you man🙏

Great post , enjoying your job is a big part of being happy

Nothing worse than being miserable when you have to work 30-40 years

My buddy has the best phrase

Do you something you love and you will never work a bad day in your life

You still will have miserable days even if you like your job lol, but yeah, it is very true..

It is actually the case of lots of people, they are not enjoying their job, it is for various reasons they keep doing something which doesn't make them happy(Family, kids, mortgage, good pay, etc).
I have a family member who is a main manager in a big company and he is doing this job for over 25 years and he is telling me not a single day he went to work as a happy man, too much stress, pressure... imagine..

Currently at the US Open ….. lucky bastard

San Sebastián in Spain?

Getting hungry.

Where is it in Japan? Gyoza and sake is close to the perfect meal for yours truly.

But it makes those miserable days more tolerable.

Suitable read for a 14 year old? Would you know?

there's probably some Gordon Ramsey level swearing and dishes being aimed at people's heads...but mostly about how single-minded. volatile.weird food pros are.

There's an excerpt of the book in The New Yorker...contains a spoiler about someone's death but will give you a great taste of subject matter and Buford's writing chops.
