I don’t get what this argument is really, if a sport/league were to turn into a Trump love fest, I’d just want to watch less that’s all. Used to tune in to the odd UFC fight, rarely do now. You seem to think that’s unreasonable.

For now I just think a bunch of rich hockey players are probably pretty dumb (as I have for the last 30+ years I’ve been watching hockey)

Try to talk them into taking a knee if they can. Already has a lot of cultural significance. Half of BMO taking a knee makes every news show in the world. Booing the anthem is a nice show of temporary anger. Kneeling during their anthem is a better show of long term resolve.
