Those rules aren't a thing except for official purposes. Ever wonder how so many complex deals get announced at 12:01 PM on deadline day? Because those deals were hashed out long before they are announced. You can't consummate a trade or signing in 2 minutes, even one as basic as Paquette's probably is.The Canes gave Paquette permission to talk to other teams before Wed?
It's the shitty poutine in Raleigh. We got this. The Canes gave Paquette permission to talk to other teams before Wed?
Paquette was actually one of the Canes most disappointing forwards last season. Really all he contributed was bad penalties. His acquisition from Ottawa by the Canes was exciting at the time, but he didn't deliver anything near what he did for Tampa. He just took up space.

Face it, if there's a francophone player who goes to the Habs without kicking up a fuss you know he has no leverage and probably isn't that good. Anyone with options steers clear.
So is Jake Evans. He's a center so I'm sure he'll get fourth line time.
Evans is moving up.So is Jake Evans.
Wasn't a free agency discussion window introduce in the CBA in 2013? I think it's like 5 to 7 days before free agency, players can talk to other teams. The reason they added this is because it was happening anyway and it was hard to control and enforce so they decided to make it official and legal now.The Canes gave Paquette permission to talk to other teams before Wed?

I’m not convinced of that.Evans is moving up.
Unless they acquire a center better? He's moving up to the third line with Poehling /Paquette on the fourthI’m not convinced of that.
