On paper we're probably not a playoff team right now. Since Caufield is up, we really have a weak set of prospects, to me it looks like bottom 3. We need 3-4 years to restock the farm. I just don't see enough salary cap room and tools this year to make things happen, do you? We never did a proper rebuild. We did a quick rebuild. They always jump the gun, go half ass, and then we're in the exact same fkn situation every year.

Use the cap space and LTIR and get something done

And no the answer isnt overpaying Lek , Armia and Dano .

Those 3 at hefty raises are the same players as now with no upside

Those are the depth players , we we need skilled core players .

You may as well be talking about ancient Mesopotamia. Last season's playoffs are predictive of nothing. Without 2 legitimate top 4 defesemen added we won't have to worry about losing to anyone in the playoffs because we won't be participating.

Lets reconvene in an 82 game normal schedule and not when a 24 and 18th place team make the playoffs in a video game format

I think it was The Athletic that wrote a piece about Wideman believing he got black balled from the NHL because of the cab incident during his time in Ottawa.

Best of luck to him, I hope he makes the best of his opportunity.
