GDT #3: OCT 5, 7:00, HNIC - HABS @ LEAFS

I’m amazed that people are pinning this on Hutchinson, I must have watched a different game.

Him or danault, yeah.

Slim pickings either way. Better than the habs have rolled out in years past, but still not good.
Yeah, I mean I'd kill to have a Matthews and or Tavares.... but alas... we do not.

That said, Domi has become a heck of a hockey player... and Danault is a really solid 2 way center. I really hope Kotkaniemi develops into a bona fide #1 center, but Domi and Danault is a decent top 2. As you said, a lot better than anything we've had in years.

Love you Habs fans saying Hutch played well. If that makes it feel like it was a good win, goooo right ahead. I mean, Jesus, first of all, he should never play the puck. Ever. Literally put it in the wrong place every single time. Then flopping around any time there was any activity in front of the net. Swiss cheese on the penalty shot, easy picking in the shootout. Fuck, he’s bad. He looked like shit when I saw him in exhibition, but this was way worse than any of that. He’s gotta go. He’s not an nhl goalie.

Sounds to me like you guys just want to pin brainfarts by your team on Hutchinson. Plenty of blame to go around if that is your thing.

That's slim pickings for a #1-2 centre, it just is. Not sure where the "ha" is coming from.
Last season Domi was the 26th highest scoring center and Danault was 48th. Both play a solid overall game too.

That is not the stuff of champions... but I'd say it's "average-ish." You guys are just spoiled with a top three 1-2 punch in the league.

So a bottom tier top line centre and a bottom tier 2nd line centre....so like, slim pickings?

Hey, I remember the Kadri-Bozak and stuff years. That was slim pickings too. It's not the graveyard you used to have there though, granted.

Hutch wasn't good but yeah... Too many defensive breakdowns. They weren't very good tonight. The result was fair.

They weren't very good tonight? I'd say they were the better team for the first 2 periods, the 3rd was atrocious however. I'm not too pissed, this was their 3rd in 4th nights, with a meh backup in net, taking 5/6 points in week #1 is damn near perfect, I'll take it.

Oh there's blame to go around, but the backup needs to be better as well.
That Kapanen gaffe was huge for the Habs. He knows better than that, a team rallying and you gift them a penalty shot? Turrible.

Went out last night thinking this was in the bag. Guh.

Kapanen is a bit soft in the head. Maybe the stick throwing shouldn't surprise, given how often he opts for the low percentage chances and can't see obvious passes.

The JT line has been sucking at evens and really needs a shake up. Either Mikheyev or Moore would probably help to get the $22M duo going.

The Rielly pairing was quite awful and, for reasons only Babcock knows, he's hardly giving Sandin any ice time at all. His nervousness in playing guys he doesn't fully trust is a real weakness. It may be affecting Sandin's confidence already. I really wish he wasn't still the coach. He doesn't really trust Dermott either, so I'm not sure things will change much when he returns.

You guys have a good one in Trevor Moore. I was impressed by his game, the kid hustles plus apparently has some offensive upside. Solid bottom 6 player there.

Pinned this on us basically stopped playing after going up 4-1 until it was 5-4 and entire game not happy with JT line (Well, for the entire season 5 on 5)
