GDT #37: DEC 21 HNIC: DET @ TOR - Hutch Reborn

I like being objective, and it probably was a dirty hit, but I support my guy, Jake Muzzin. So cool that his grandpa talks to my best friend, two or three times a week and tells him, (he is a huge Leafs fan) how much Jake loves wearing the blue and white.

My best bud is doing a pretty size real estate development in Woodstock. Where Jake calls him still. So he is an Ontario boy.

I dunno if we can resign him, but I love having him on the team.

Any team that signs him will get a real good teammate and player.

I also loved the Holl and Dermott responses tonight. I think the guys are turned the right on, for playing hockey right now.

I like watching them so much more now, its exponential. Babcock almost got me hating my team that I have tattooed on my arm.

Of course he will, he's a Leaf. I was being tongue in cheek when I said 60 games, but he'll definitely get suspended for defending himself against a huge human being who went after him for throwing a clean hit.

AA will get nothing for trying to take Kerfoot's knee off though, and the Leafs will continue to be mocked for not being tough enough, etc. When we get cheap shotted, no suspensions ever and we get auto suspended for retaliating or "taking care of it ourselves". Remember that large percentage of Leaf suspensions over the last decade or so were all retaliatory for cheap shots against that went uncalled, or for otherwise protecting themselves when the refs were unable or unwilling to.

Bias, conspiracy, I don't give a fuck what someone wants to call it, but when it's incredibly predictable, it's an obvious problem.
 
I think Muzzin is the heart and soul of the Leafs dressing room. But I have no proof of that. All I know, he is the only guy that could kill someone on the ice, playing for us, and you unfortunately need that in the playoffs.

Question for all of you, who have played a violent blood sport, like hockey, football, rugby, etc....

What do you think the dressing room thought of Jake Muzzin and Justin Holl when they started to download their gear in the dressing room?

I posit, total admiration. Total Admiration. That is what makes a team. Big time, develops a Cup winner. Balls still are a big factor in the NHL, and Muzzin has em. Same for Holl it seems. Who obviously LOVES Muzzin. Shit, made Holl a NHL prize man.

We got to see some inner dressing room on the ice tonight. Holl loves Muzzin for allowing Holl to shine.

The NHL is so competitive, so parity thanks to this cap stuff. What separates, the weak from the strong, is superior, management imo. Always believed that.

Shanahan should slip a million dollar suitcase into Keefes garage on December 24th. All I can say.

I had a long evening of beers with O Dawg... Really liked him.

But shit, he is calling out the hidden hand here. Surprised that he wasn't fired for calling out the truth here.

Maybe we are in new times, but cures for cancer, aids, and people talking the truth? Fired or in the case of floydidan on our AIDS deal, Murdered.

Boy, pretty proud of O Dawg, had a great night with him. Surprised he wasn't fired over this.

And Floyd? Gutsiest guy I ever met. ... Floydian Leaf. Phew. What a warrior.. I miss him so much.

I cannot believe O Dawg got away with this. I never did. Floyd sure didn't..
 
Mantha's reaction to the Muzzin hit was way over the top. It was a totally clean hit (and not even that much of a bonecruncher, either). Not sure why he flipped his lid like that. He comes in with a couple of punches, loses his balance and smacks his head. AA's attempted knee-on-knee was wayyyy worse.

Let's see what the idiot parros deems as a suspendable offence, from an obvious intent to injure action ...

I say the wings get nothing, and muzzin gets a game for dangerous behaviour lol.

I will bet Jacob's was on the phone immediately after watching the highlights to last night game against Detroit, to tell parros and bettman, that he wants a leaf suspended..... the leafs are getting to close in the standings and he wants as little opposition for his team as possible lol.
 
I got news for Jacobs, Bruins have a good coach, we have a very good coach who can handle young multi millionaires extremely well.

There is absolutely NO reason, why the Leafs cannot win a cup, now that the stench of Babcock is gone. We have a great squad of players. Awesome, best we have ever assembled since 1967.

I still want to see Mason Marchment on the squad for the playoffs. The more beasts, the better.

Gotta say, I saw the loss of control seconds before all the B.S. started. NHL officiating is at an all time worst imo. And it can have chaotic consequences.
