Honestly for me he's been awesome. He's everywhere. A little sloppy, sure, but he's real tough to beat defensively. Great gap and constantly swarming the opposition.

Edit: fancy stats back that up so far. 93% xgf

Yeah, I saw those comments and wondered if we were watching the same game...He's been great on zone exits, the one defensive mistake he made he used his skating to get back in the play and made the right read to take away the pass to the front of our net, and he showed plus vision/creativity when he tried to bank a pass off the end boards to Spezza for one of our best chances of the period.

And I'm talking about him looking amazing. He excites me probably more than sandin as a player and I love sandin. I'm sorry for posting about his terrific period and I'm sorry for pointing out that the Leafs heavily outplayed Montreal while he was on the ice and using a basic statistic to prove it. It won't happen again

I admit that I turned my back a couple times during the period and might have missed a shift or two, but not many....but other than when he fell in the offensive zone trying to take the puck around the net (got pushed, lost balance on his edge, went down)....when the hell else did he fall? You make it sound like he was a wall to wall bumble fuck the entire period and that doesn't remotely line up with what I saw.

In fairness I think his fall tally that period was 2.
