Exactly. The problem isn't the player, it's the coach. Briere was set up to fail from Day One. You could tell right away that Therrien hated him. He relegated him to the fourth line and then the press box. He made him a scapegoat right off the bat, just like he had done to Czerkawski years before. When Therrien decides he doesn't like a player it doesn't matter what his GM is paying the guy. He will find a way to get rid of him. Parenteau was no different and really, neither was Semin, who really wasn't given much of an opportunity when all was said and done.

Therrien does not trust one dimensional players unless that one dimension is an ability to play without the puck. Otherwise he's too nervous about what might happen to take a chance.
 
lol Montreal got away with that, but I still don't understand how a Wild player is left alone standing in front of the net
 
Isn't anyone better than Tinordi and Pateryn in our D chart in st-John? Gilbert, Tinodri are scary to watch..
 
I don't think the question should be if the puck was in. Granlund was in the crease and pushes Condon into a 180.
