GDT | Game 28 | VS Ducks | Monday, December 9th | 7:30 PM EST ONLY ON PRIME (and RDS)

A win on Thursday vs Pit gives a 4-1 home stand, and they should be able to win 4-of next-5 - allowing them to jump a few teams…
I hope you jest. This team still plays long stretches of God awful hockey that isnt even worthy of a sniff of da mix.

The standings say there’s some 10 other teams in the conference in a similar situation

I was at Sens game last night vs Isles - my youngest turned to me and said the Wolfpack (NYR AHL affiliate) are a better team….

Isles scored 3G on 12 SOG and looked awful…yes they’re tied w NYR for last wildcard spot. Sens dominated but as fans told me has been the case all season, they hand games over to opposition at crucial times and can’t recover

Caps look to be the dominant team in the Eastern Conf but so DID NYR, and Canes, and NJD…. maybe there aren’t any of those because it sure ain’t TBay or Bos

We’re witnessing changing of the guard driving parity

The bottom half of the conference is a bumbling clown car. And as long as NYR and maybe Boston continue to screw up, then it’ll just be a huge muddle.

Edit: looks like Boston stabilized.

the -22 goal differential is a good reminder how this team is easily one of the 5 worst teams in the league

Anderson
Dvorak
Gallagher
Armia
Evans

Just go already.

Those Anderson and Gallagher contracts are horrible though. They'll be fourth liners for years but fucking keep them there.
funny how other teams are able to get rid of bad contracts

We could have if we really wanted to. We got rid of Hoffman. But I don't think it make sense for us. We're not desperate for cap space, those players are not blocking anyone, they still play a role on the team, and the assets that it would have cost us to get rid of them were more important to us. We have 17M in cap space freeing up this summer. Gallagher and Anderson will be the only bad contracts remaining with only 2 years left. I wouldn't be shocked if they finish their contract with us, or traded at the deadline of their last year.
