GDT | Game 28 | VS Ducks | Monday, December 9th | 7:30 PM EST ONLY ON PRIME (and RDS)

We could have if we really wanted to. We got rid of Hoffman. But I don't think it make sense for us. We're not desperate for cap space, those players are not blocking anyone, they still play a role on the team, and the assets that it would have cost us to get rid of them were more important to us. We have 17M in cap space freeing up this summer. Gallagher and Anderson will be the only bad contracts remaining with only 2 years left. I wouldn't be shocked if they finish their contract with us, or traded at the deadline of their last year.
Its the roster spots too

the others hurt their teams, Price's has never hurt us and never will
If the Habs were competitive that contract would hurt us even with LTIR

10.5 has to be absorbed into your cap in the offseason to get winter LTIR

Same way Vegas dumped Weber cause he would fuck them for years when they needed to sign players

None of our shit contracts hurt us cause we stink but the bottom line shit contacts that should never be handed out

All shit contracts affect teams in some way

Yes, but until we have young guys blocked by those players, it's a non-issue. Dvorak, Armia and Pezzetta will be gone this summer, so that's 3 spots already. Demidov and Beck should take two of those. Roy might take the other. I doubt we have more than 3 rookie forwards on the lineup next year (I'm counting Roy). Depending on how next year goes and the kids progress, I can see us finally moving away for Gallagher and Anderson before their final year. But I also wouldn't be shocked if we resign Evans.

Important year and offseason next year , big decisions on how Hugo pivots the rebuild

Hugo is doing well dumping but can they build up a winner ?

Evans takes a team friendly deal in the 2 mil range or get lost

This is his last deal at decent money but cant pay like previous Armia , Hoffman , etc.... contracts

Shit contracts don't hurt as much if your team is shit but they are a contributing factor as to why your shit team remains a shit team for longer than it should.

All of Bergevin's boat anchors are keeping the rebuild from accelerating.

We will have a lot of cap space so I'm hoping he makes a trade. Or signs Marner.

Penguins, Islanders and Blue Jacket all lost tonight, so the Klown Kar continues to bump along. Now, Philly is who beat CLB, so there’s the math of 8-9 team s crowded within 4 points of one another.
