Bergevin panicked, he lost 2 of top 3 centres, both through his hubris so he took the first available and we have learned recently, the first one isn't the best one

U know what I mean, Price + Weber were significant core pieces that teams can’t simply try and find in summer shopping
Staal, KK and Tatar replacements could be found even Danault though not easily but a generational playoff G and 28TOI playoff warrior D…

They weren't a fraud because of what came after. They were a fraud before, during and after the Covid Cup run.
A proper tear-down and rebuild should have started the day after they lost to the Sens in the playoffs.

We didn't say no. We had a deal with Edmonton for Draisaitl and 4th overall, it's Edmonton that changed their mind with Puljujarvi feel to them.
