GDT | Game 40 | vs Canuckleheads | Monday, January 6th | 7:30 PM EST ** Only on Prime **

It's not a player to player comparison. It's not about which player was better than another player. It's simpler than that. Either you were on a Cup winner or you weren't. Doesn't matter how many. Just a yes or no proposition.

A player winning an individual award means nothing to a fan. The only trophies that fans can feel part of are team championships. Individual awards are just for the players themselves.
I can’t tell you how disappointed most Eagles fans were that Saquon Barkley didn’t play the last (meaningless) game of the season to try and break Eric Dickerson single season rushing record. A totally individual achievement.

the fact Dickerscum was whining about the record being broken in 17 games (forgetting he took 16 to break OJ's record) made me want Barkley to break it more (and I hate Sirianni and the Iggles)

I get all that but your initial point was that fans don’t care about individual achievements and awards. That’s simply not true.

BTW, I agreed with not playing him.
They care for 5 minutes but let's say that Barkley had played and broke the record. Then a week from now the Eagles lose a playoff game. Is anyone still talking about the record then?

And individual football records have never been that celebrated. Without googling, how many yards did Jim Brown have in his career when Walter Payton broke it? How many yards did Payton end up with? They dont know or care. They care about wins. Team wins.

There was no riot in Montreal when Stephane Richer scored 50 goals and there was no parade. If it ain't worth rioting over or having a parade for, it's not relevant.
