His offensive numbers are nuts but that's on a bad team. Gotta capitalize on that and the fact he's twice as fast as Petry.
plus younger/cheaper

Only if you believe that HuGo is no better than Bergy-Timmins. I don't agree. I'll take competent anglophone management over hyper-sensitive, media-driven francophone management every day of the week.you need to realize this "tanking" you keep preaching will be nothing but a 7 year blue ball session and at the end of the day, we won't win and you will be 65 before we make the playoffs again.
Until you sign him to money and term. Then he immediately looks like a guy who should have retired 8 years ago. See: Gallagher, Brendan.Matheson looks like he can play another 8 years.
Hutson won’t flop.
6-9OA pick will be sufficientI agree that Guhle is a shutdown type D man, but he could be a good one. Good wheels, mean and big enough.
From a team building perspective, I would tread carefully before moving Guhle. We lack that profile of D in the young group. Just him and Xhekaj, really. And if this team ever makes the playoffs again, he’s the kind of guy you want in the battles.
No way I include him in a trade for Zegras. Use different assets.
And lack of size and lack of defensive acumen …Are there not questions about his wheels?

he's de chez nous, a good west island boy like Kent, won't give him up easilyHugo is not overpaying him and highly doubtful retaining him
your faith in Hughes is stronger than your faith in Zelenskyy, not sure it's warranted. I don't have faith in Zelensky, I have faith in the incompetence of the Russian military. And my faith IN HuGo isn't nearly as deep as my faith in the narrative that Bergy is an imbecile who was far too concerned with being liked by the francophone media.your faith in Hughes is stronger than your faith in Zelenskyy, not sure it's warranted. then we failed doubly, didn't get better and not bottom of the league.I don't have faith in Zelensky, I have faith in the incompetence of the Russian military. And having fewer points than last year is a good thing. We want to pick as high as possible. If we aren't making the playoffs we need to be striving for 32nd place. Finishing 17th doesn't help us. If we can't be actually successful we need to succeed at failure.
If that was what it took I'd give up Guhle for Zegras but not a first. Work something else out. If it had to be the late first then grab their second back in a swap since we don't have one. That seems fair.I agree that Guhle is a shutdown type D man, but he could be a good one. Good wheels, mean and big enough.

It's Guhle, organization likes Xhekaj a lot because of the no whining and coachability. That's really rare these days but he's a sponge and paid attention like Slafkovsky.I see this differently. There is no doubt in my mind that we need to make a trade for a young top 6 forward. What assets do we have to made that trade? Our 1rd pick, but we could also draft that guy with it. Otherwise it's pretty much Guhle or Xhekaj+.
We're not trading Hutson and I don't think Matheson can fetch us that guy.
