I'd worry about everything, honestly.

The whole team's bad. It's not like our forwards are good & they're being sabotaged by the defense.

Worth repeating: This team doesn't have a legitimate #1 center, doesn't have a legitimate #1 d-man, doesn't have a legitimate #1 goalie. This is a problem.

nobody who doesn't work for the team is saying much about playoffs

Of course. I don't think HuGo is popping champagne because Arpon Basu got Suzuki and Newhook to say they are on the cusp of playoffs

to some extent media has to wear pom poms...not much incentive to tell their audience "come back in a couple of years"

Probably not next year but the year after.

Like I've said for awhile now we need some luck to just get back to subban, Pleks, maxpac, price era. And that team wasn't good enough.

I don't blame the players for thinking that. They should want to think that.

I would hope, however, that our management team disagrees with them.

So we’re back to 76 pts Suzuki isn’t a 1C again?

Dach’s absence for this team is significant and has major domino effect

Then there’s the matter of a top-6 F addition this summer which is a guarantee

Habs will battle it out for a playoff spot next season unless major injuries hit again.

Dach in this lineup would’ve been 10-12 additional pts which puts them right there w Pit/Phi/Buf

Jake Evans has been 2C for majority of this season, let that sink in…

I also expect the PP to perform at a significantly higher level w Hutson as QB

I think management disagrees too....won't stop them from making moves but they they ain't signing a Guentzel or a Stamkos for a playoff push

They really have no clue defensively how to withstand pressure, do they? I used to whine for years about going into a shell with a lead. Now this. Not that it matters now, but it will at some point.

Back? This has been my opinion for years.

If you want your #1 center to be a sub-PPG player, be my guest. Your standards are too low if this is what you consider a legitimate #1 center. You'll have a team that perennially reserves their off season vacations in mid-April.

By the way, Dach was here most of last year and... they finished about the same spot we're going to finish in.
 
I mean if everything goes right next season, Habs might be in the chase...the Flyers are knocking on the door and they dont have any of your pre-requirements

What they do this summer will tell you precisely where they think we're at. If they think we're close, I could see Gallagher or Anderson being bought out & trying to sign a UFA. Wouldn't exclude them trading the Winnipeg 1st for an established NHLer for immediate help. Or, plot twist, giving San Jose the Winnipeg 1st so that they can take on Anderson's contract.

There’s zero guarantee Habs would’ve drafted him at 13OA

I’m very curious about the McGroarty situation, why is he going back for Junior year? No interest in playing for Jets?

Detroit has a playoff spot to play for, Montreal have personnel stats:Suzuki 4 pts for 80, Caufield 3 goals for 30, Slafkovsky 1 goal for 20, 2points for 50. Which wins out?
