GDT Game 82: VS Bruins, Thursday, April 13, 7PM EST (THIS IS THE END!)

Drouin made $35,360,271 in his career. Even if he already blew through 30M, he has a lot of fuck you money. Just has to follow John Goodman's simple financial plan.

He's ok financially from what I've heard. Still, I think a team gives him a PTO and a $2m contact easily. His assists alone are worth that.

I feel badly for him, the dream of him being the great French hope got to him. Bergevin also fucked him by making him a centre when he is a winger.

nah, it was understandable, trading a 3/4 dman for a top 3 overall choice was a calculated risk.
It was a total bullshit deal from day 1

It was simply to suck up to locals and take some sting off the PK trade

Nero was going to get his ahole ripped larger if he went elsewhere , and he was on the block

There was no way Yzerman was handing us a star for a prospect when he could of inked to a fair contract

If his last name was Drury, there is no deal

that may be but it was calculated risk to trade what is a 3/4 dman for who was a top 3 overall, it didn't work out, shit happens

Drouin will sign somewhere like Anaheim or San Jose where he’ can just do his own thing quietly and try to benefit from the talent coming in

It was a terrible idea from the get-go.

We had just let go of Markov (and all of the d-men that were on the left side the previous season), we had a screaming need for LHD d-men both in the NHL and in our prospect pool, and we had an over-abundance of wingers.

It was such a ill-conceived plan that I can't help but think Molson's the one who pushed The Charlatan to do it, and I'm not one to defend The Charlatan on anything.

Molson stated on Mitch Melnick’s show, a plan had been set in place after the 1st round loss to NYR in the playoffs and a clear need for more offense. Habs had allotted a specific amount of $ for re-signing Radulov & Markov, Drouin was supposed to be an addition to the top-6 as a W not a C, and Alzner was supposed to be Emelin’s replacement at similar cap hit.

Org hadn’t banked on Radulov refusing the offer and Markov being adamant on a 3-year deal finally deciding to get it in KHL, and had to shuffle the last minute for those brilliant moves…
