Habs News & Notes: Training Camp 2015

Yeah, not too many impressed with Prusty here. Sounds like he has Steve Begin's broken down body.

Obviously, the Canucks just wanted a warm body for a badass that wore out his welcome mat over there.

If Kassian is gone, say, for half the season, then shit, we were able to dump Prust for a fifth round pick and we can use the cap space at the trade deadline.

I agree, it's far from a big deal in terms of what we lost. Prust couldn't keep up anymore and Therrien felt obliged to use him because I don't think sitting him would have gone over too well with Prust.

27 moving to C and Semin adding some punch should help. If the pp clicks better than last year maybe goals will not be an issue

Wishful thinking, if 27 cant win faceoffs he likely wont be at C for long, Semin likely will add minimal offense and scoring lots of goals likely will be an issue once again.

Wingers can take faceoffs in big moments if needed. We were good at 5 on 5 scoring... the pp sucked. If that improves we will be fine

Thats why Eller's also on that line - to help with defensive awareness & perhaps take faceoffs for D-zone starts...

I noticed that we were a bit more creative in the last few pp in preseason. Hopefully that is signs of things to come

Habs have had a super PP before, but then sucked 5 on 5, so not quite that simple. But agree the PP and offense in general has nowhere to be but up.
Didn't Galchenyuk lose every faceoff he took in one preseason game? Is fine to be weak or so-so on faceoffs like Plekanec has always been <50%, but cant play centre and really suck at it, no matter who is on the wing.
They said Galchenyuk had been working on it vs Plekanec & Hudon; but was getting easily beat by them.

The Habs have claimed Paul Byron from the Flames... had 19 points in 57 games last season.

de la Rose to the AHL?

Аrpon Basu:
Among regular Flames players, Paul Byron had the fourth best score-adjusted Corsi-relative over the past two seasons combined.
