We scored 8 in 5 games ...... 31 would need 3 shutouts to even have a chance

TB has too much scoring depth , we got killed by their secondary players

They scored 9 goals vs our 8 total output

It was all a matter of who scored first, the first that scored the first goal won every game in that series.

It was the same story for both teams. Tampa was 16-2 when scoring first and we were 12-2. Tampa haven't won a single game in the playoffs last year when they didn't score first. They are very good at shutting it down, and we're not very good at scoring when the other team shut it down, we're not alone there as both team records show.

That's the biggest difference IMO, the average goalie nowadays is really good. Back in the 70s and 80s, the different between good and average goalies was quite large. Things got better in the 90s but there was still a large enough gap that you needed a pretty good goalie to make a difference.

That and size. I’m not sure Mike Richter could be a starter today, the Beezer not a chance.

For sure. Plenty of 5'11 goalies back then, now not so much.

Why not , he looked good last year and defensively sound

Paquette can move to C if we need a vet

Jake cant be worse than the aging left overs available in the UFA market

You can pick up a vet sitting at home looking for money if required

Team needs to sink or swim with our young C`s

Fleury is the most overrated goalie since Roberto Luongo. And Campbell, despite what Leafs fans will have you believe, isn't that great either.

Campbell had an excellent season and was not the reason Toronto lost, Price was.

Hellebuyck - Vezina winner but he must be mediocre

Fleury - He will try to argue that Fleury is mediocre. The rest of us know he isn't.

Vasilevskiy - Vezina/Conn Smythe winner?

The Habs faced 2 very good goalies and 2 excellent goalies and won 13 games and three series. To claim what they're claiming is worthy of a tape job (back when hazing was a thing in hockey). If they need it spelled out... if they can beat top notch goalies? They can beat mediocre goalies. Just braindead stuff.

Leafs had the perfect storm and gifts and choked .

Soft division ....check

Easy path to semis ....check

Their question marks heading into the playoffs all came through with a check

Goaltending was solid and their role players played well and produced above expectations

16 and 34 cost them the series , 100% on them .

The Gallagher goal in game 7 was inexcusable. The KK goal in game 6 was highly stoppable . . . by a better goalie. Campbell is a 29 year old journeyman with one good season until proven otherwise.
