Habs Season Thread: 2024-25 Regular Season

Monahan's a hell of a player, nobody's ever disputed that.

But... He's injury prone. And not just the odd injury like breaking a finger when blocking a shot. He's gotten multiple hip surgeries and close to 75% of last season due to a foot injury.

I can't, in good conscience, give him term. The probabilities that it'll blow up in our faces are too high.

Trade him by the halfway point this season, try to get a first or an interesting prospect in return.
Exactly , no term

If he stays healthy for the year i have no problem signing him to 3 years, maybe 4... as many have said on here, sometimes we have to go for the home run.. a healthy Monahan for 3 years maybe 4 would be a homerun..
Mony is a home run for a contender not the Habs...except in a trade

By the time this team is ready to win he is done

Where did you get a crystal ball? I’m so amazed by your ability to know and speak of the future with such conviction. You sound like a Baptist minister

Harris was always a better skating Gorges.

Struble is an unknown w tremendous athleticism, if he’s able to calm his play down & not try to force plays that simply aren’t there… there’s a fairly high ceiling potential
Not sure about the offensive upside but the size , wheels , and physicality is there to work with

If he can grasp the NHL D IQ , he will be in the top 6 permanently

His upside is way higher than Harris's but his decision-making on the ice is off at times.

I hope the kid makes it as it would show that they can develop players. Struble was a project for sure. Very raw when drafted.
