Getting injured playing hockey isn't an emergency, it's an occupational hazard unless the injury in question was something particularly grotesque or life altering/threatening.

I get that but also, the Habs games are meaningless at this point in regard to making the playoffs and HuGo probably want to keep Marty “happy” so that he stays a while. His family doesn’t live with him and he probably doesn’t need the money so they have some incentive to keep Marty happy.

I get both points, if we were in a playoff race, there might have been more incentive to keep Marty with the team, but this was an easy decision. Still I would imagine that if his son was in a critical situation, he would have taken the time off as well.
