Hey Nerds: Blockchain

My guy always tells me that Pete Kadens is the nicest, most loyal man he has ever met. And there ya go... Sticking by his man. Keep selling your infinite number of shares, buddy. You're in my good books.

Bingo. They were growing regardless.. but new states legalizing is where the hypergrowth comes from. Buckle up buckeroos. 2022 and 2023 will get silly.

One thing to keep in mind with NJ and NY... They're basically starting from scratch. Basically a nonexistent medical market there right now so you're going from zero revenues to who the fuck knows what. They'll be competition with the black market and shit but man it's gonna be big. Even Illinois, which completely took Cresco and thumb to another level in 2020, had a very robust and mature medical market. Sales obviously exploded but it wasn't like they started from scratch like they will in NJ and NY.

Now of course the NY framework isn't as kind to MSOs as Illinois but it could have been a lot worse; they will still dominate the state. I don't know what the stocks do between now and then.. and 2021 may seem fairly muted and disappointing to some (Curaleaf already guided another quarter of ~10% growth, for example, in q1) but the next two years will be just as crazy as 2020 was. And PA, Ohio, Florida may be coming soon as well.

Ahhhh here's your explanation for the thumb thing.

The Tribune noted that GTI had once hired Michael McClain, a longtime lobbyist and colleague of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan. McClain is among those who have been indicted in a bribery scandal linked to ComEd.

He was a GTI employee briefly in 2015 and has been getting investigated by the feds since 2019 so of course his time with thumb would come up at some point in the investigation. So the paper can run with the story all they want because it's technically partially true. That's gotta be it. In 2015 he was a well respected and known lobbyist for decades so there was nothing really sketchy about it. His crime that he later committed was completely unrelated for a completely different company.

"technically partially true" isn't really a good motto for a newspaper

And Madigan has been investigated about all sorts of things....his web is pretty wide

McClain is the thumb connection, not Madigan. Basically they hired a guy and he briefly worked for them years before he committed a crime for another company that the feds are investigating. He worked for a lot of companies and had a respectable reputation up until the whole bribery thing. In Illinois if you wanted a lobbyist he was the guy you called.

I'm just theorizing here and I see others with a similar theory. They're just stretching the truth probably because they're short or want in cheaper. #conspiracytheory

I get that...but the GTII lobbyists were targeting Madigan...and Madigan was implicated in other scandals (ComEd bribery) so any dealings with Madigan might "technically" involve corruption.

tl;dr the state has corruption; maybe GTII is corrupt?

If it's related to licenses they got their Illinois licenses well before they hired Mcclain though. They got all they needed out if Illinois before he was a GTI employee.

We need one of those conspiracy theory boards with arrows all over the place and shit.

And no I don't expect or believe that the licensing process was fair for Illinois. We can put Cresco in that category too. But I don't think that's what this is about.

and yet stock is higher now than before the article hit...which means a bunch of folks in the know had already sold.

if tomorrow the stock trades higher than Monday's close...thumb taking this hit piece in stride is bullish as fuk

It was unusually weak for days before the article hit. Was a bit weird. Now it makes sense!

Fact check: this was wrong by presto!!! McClain helped thumb obtain medical marijuana licenses in 2015. Thumb is likely corrupt. Sell sell sell!!!!

Trimmed VEXT at a buck. Swapped some Thumb at 39.35 for AYR at 38.15 earlier. Other than that, just relaxing today. Life is good again in weedville.
