Hey Nerds: Blockchain

Yeah I saw that and the capital raise that got flipped by the buyer right back into the market, so of course a 100% gain the next day was inevitable.

Most folks that play these (and I'm talking about the amateurs) have a way higher risk tolerance than us. So they hit big once in a blue moon but their portfolio is riddled with losses from other plays. We only see the fun part of their strategy but many are still under water. Important to remember this if you're ever tempted to hop in on the degenerate train.

Yeah. I occasionally play small with options....looking to turn $1K to $10K pretty quick. But I don't even try that often. And most of those attempts fail, but I almost always get out at breakeven or <$300 loss

I'm still on semi-hiatus but I noticed some of my recent faves enjoyed great moves today

ie.. BYND 145 options went 7 bagger (from .80 to 5.60)

Is this all again just pure Reddit effect?
Yeah I think so. AMC has kinda been the #2 behind GME for a bit, but this day was coming with all the short interest. There's been a few catalysts too with more states opening up and AMC looking to acquire smaller theatre chains that were decimated due to Covid.

I do boring DCA into my RRSP as my main investing strategy, so a little degenerate gambling is alright by me.

I always advise people to setup different accounts...they cost almost zero to maintain

I have an RRSP, TFSA,

plus an account just for options
and another account for Futures

I've got 7 accounts and I once had a strict setup for each one but that has all gone to shit. I made 5 of the 7 pot stock accounts mid-last year. It was frightening and I'll never do it again but I don't expect another covid dump to come during an election year where a democrat is likely to win ever again so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Now I'm down to 2 accounts that are half focused on pot stocks with some options play hedges + cash intertwined in each. The others are back to boring ETF shit.
