I didn't travel and wore my N95, later switching to cloth once I had been jabbed. And you can't say they did no good because they did. And they'd have done even better had more people obeyed and been made to obey.

Sweden gets a lot of things right, mostly because the right wing is a small, tiny minority there. They have all the nice things like healthcare, education, work-life balance and high life expectancy because of democratic socialism which puts strict limitations and regulations on wealth accumulation. Everybody pays their fair share of taxes.

You also conveniently omit the fact that, on the whole, Swedes are in far better health than most North Americans. They don't have anywhere near the same level of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic ailments because they have healthier lifestyles. And they have those healthier lifestyles because of socialism. If North Americans were as healthy as Swedes and if half the population weren't brain dead inbreds to begin with, we could have enacted Covid policies similar to Sweden. But we couldn't because too many of us live like filthy animals thanks to unchecked capitalism.

Those policies made it possible for Sweden to react to the pandemic differently than we in North America did. When your population is already generally healthy you can be more lenient. But you don't have to look very far in North America to see that, on the whole, we are not that healthy and we get worse every year. US life expectancy actually went down last year. Swedes don't have to deal with the myriad of co-morbidities that are present here.

Is that why the left shit on Sweden so much for not following along with what the rest of the word was doing? Sweden never said, oh we are healthier so therefore we won't make you wear a mask which won't prevent anything but which looks good. They said the other countries were wrong. Your leftists had hemmorhages over it.
 
Late last month Bell Media held their annual "Let's Talk Day" dog and pony show where they pretended to give a shit about mental health. And today, just a couple of weeks later and just like they did last year, Bell is announcing huge cuts; 4800 jobs and 45 radio stations are getting the axe as I type. I won't be surprised if TSN690 in Montreal and/or TSN1200 in Ottawa get cut loose, despite their broadcast deals with the Habs and Sens. Bell owns other stations in both markets and they can easily switch the games over to one of the others.

Once again, confirmation that Bell is a shit company that only cares about selling iPhones.

Be that as it may, the fact remains that North America is not Sweden and following Sweden's example wouldn't have worked here for all the reasons I outlined. So your only option at that point is to either obey or move to Sweden and pay real taxes.

I think 690 will survive, but I can see most of the local shows being replaced with the American feed. They have already done this for TSN1200 in Ottawa. XM radio must be celebrating now.
 
Hockey Quebec has been rotten to the core for as far as I can remember it. A whole 'lot of people in powerful positions that are doing things to make money instead of running a sport.

Thibault didn't specifically say why or what, but reading between the lines: He's supposed to be the boss, but he's ultimately powerless to affect any change if the presidents of each region don't follow suit.
