Re: Habs News & Notes: 2015-16 Season

So does this mean he is back on the books?

Good question, I'm curious about it myself, I'm guessing he's still suspended by the team right now but can we keep him suspended even though he's done with the program? Will he be going to IR after that?

I do, only if he's cleared per process (obviously) AND if he's still in shape. He'll obviously need a conditioning stint in the AHL, but I would not take him back if he's not physically fit.

Wow! I though his rehab would be at least a little while longer.

It's completely logical that he gets in shape and proves himself in the AHL.

People seem surprised he wasn't sent on a rehab stint, but he can't possibly be in game shape, so this would be an easier way to get him through waivers.

Must be tough having to face the reality of never being able to have a drink again. I'm not a drinker, but I do enjoy the occasional glass of wine or a cold one on a hot summer day.

Let's be honest and realistic...I wish all the luck in the world to this guy but chances are he'll relapse a few times.

The real question will be how he handles it....does he let it get the best of him or control it with help

Was kinda shocked about the waiver thing, but when you think about it, it is highly unlikely that he gets claimed. I hope he can turn it around in the AHL.

I'd have to agree. The hockey environment isn't the best for this

From the other perspective:

HabsLinks:
I would hazard to guess that the chances of Zack Kassian playing for the Canadiens this year are about the same as mine. Not good.

I know it's not their problem, but he needs help from his peers if he's to have any shot.

But let's not forget Dennis Martinez...
