KK Signs Offer Sheet From Canes/Habs Don't Match

Team developmental issues aside, this back ups the me first mentality of this kid. Cup final and he thinks he's St. Patrick while contributing less than Francis B. In my opinion he might develop into a player who gives you a nifty play once in awhile, but I don't see him achieving much more than that. He'll never bring a team to the cup and his legacy will be this offer sheet saga.

Just an overall bad pick for #3.

Not sure...Marc Denis said this morning drafting KK was based on what he had accomplished (boxes checked) at a much younger age vs his draft peers. Habs made an educated guess KKs development curve would continue & surpass vs Zadina, Tkachuk et al

Only time will tell whether Habs picked the wrong player, couldn’t develop the asset properly, or a combo of both

Eric Macramalla 0n TSN690 said that he spoke to someone “very close” to the org this past weekend, who stated ego was a big issue, they saw warnings signs around his attitude all season around his maturity level, basically acting like he was better than his on ice performance... not exactly a shocker for a 20-year old under the limelight but still worth pointing out..

Yeah. Another coach's son that thinks he knows better. If this is true I hope he busts.

I've not followed Zadina much. Has he amounted to anything yet?

All comments from people involved points to this issue if you read between the lines.

Zadina had 19 points in 49 games last season, but he started to show flashes late last season. Detroit is taking it maddeningly slow with most of their young guys.
I think that the Red Wings have done pretty well with their player development techniques over the last couple of decades. Maybe it's the Habs who are taking things maddenlingly fast with their young guys instead.

When your yanked like a yo-you and team shows no confidence in you , this is what happens

There was no need to bench him in the playoffs for some of the stiffs we played , he scored big goals for us

I hope he has a good year in Carolina

Yet - those moves seemingly allowed the “team” to reach the Cup finals. KK wasn’t very good in the playoffs, a shift here & there

KK had a very good rookie season as an 18 yr old centre in the bigs. Has regressed since. This year will be quite telling.

Yup , and year 4 is his key development year

He should fine on a solid top 6/9 new venture

2020 should of been his rookie year , needed time to fill out and work on skating overseas

No and he probably never will, but lots of people media & fans were clamoring for the Habs to select him

From what I remember on a podcast , Habs had a solid offer to move down into the top 10 and pick up a solid prospect and a top6
under 24 on that roster .

This is an organizational failure , period .

No excuse how we dont have a good player on this roster from that draft at # 3

Svech and Dahlin were the jewels but there are good players that will emerge , some have flaws but will be regular top 6/ 4D in this league .

11 was garbage , where his benching

Tied for 3rd in goals with 13 minutes a night , no need to bench him
KK scored the occasional goal but overall he wasn't good for most of that 13 minutes per night. You're correct neither was Gally, but in this situation of a team going to battle with each other you 100% take the veteran warrior giving it everything over the kid with self valuation and entitlement issues.
