KK Signs Offer Sheet From Canes/Habs Don't Match

Yeah, Dvorak should have been the replacement for Danault, but he probably is off the table without that extra first from Carolina.

Makes you wonder of they couldn’t have offered a future lottery protected first if that’s what it took.

I don't think KK will amount to much. Forme he hasn't appeared like anything more than a long term project with 3rd line potential. I am curious to see how it plays out. Is it our usual poor drafting, or our inability to develop players? Or is it simply a player who isn't that good.

I thought KK showed some nifty playmaking abilities in his first year, showed some poise and patience with the puck. Then someone probably told him to move the puck faster and play more North -South. And that was the beginning of the end. He had 34 points in his rookie year, which is quite respectable and somehow the Habs messed up again in player development.

A bit of all three.

First half season he was great and looked like he had tons of potential. Then it stalled and even went backward. I don't think he ever was better with us than his first 30-40 games.

I just don't like giving up on such a high pick so relatively quickly and for a relatively "meh" return, regardless of possible salary structure ramifications.

But that feeling in itself is how many teams get into trouble by holding on too long. It's too early to tell which one this situation will be.

I doubt MB was thrilled about it either. Without a salary cap i have little doubt that we would have matched.

No doubt…that’s why I’ve always called him The Bust

Although i stole that term from you Count (AK46 circa 2003)
btw, I am starting to copy you and buying "expensive" Swiss watches. I got a Jaeger Lecoultre in June.
