With all due respect, the fact the he’s not playing games anywhere right now is ridiculous. That’s on Bergevin.the cap / recall thing
sure
him being with the habs and not laval
that is fine

They’re simply waiting to ship Primeau back to Laval on Sat and replace him w Lindgren, to free up enough cap space thus allowing the use of the last recall on the HobbitI honestly think they’re waiting for two things:
1) Less than 10 games left to avoid the bonus in his contract
2) Hoping to have the playoffs essentially clinched, so there’s less pressure if in fact he makes any mistakes
I mean, if wasn't clear enough already...
The Charlatan doesn't give a **** about prospect development.
He simply doesn't. I have a decade of evidence to support my claim.
I don't want Caufield to play in the NHL this season, the expectations are so ridiculous and he won't come close to living up to them. And the longer we keep him around without playing, the bigger and bigger they'll get.
Laval only had like what, one game scheduled while the Habs were away... I think that also contributed to it.
Then others were scheduled while the team was already away.
Yeah...the dumb move wasn't putting him on the TS....it was needlessly shuffling a bunch of chairs on the D depth chart on deadline day and handcuffing further moves. Why couldn't Mete be waived a week earlier? That would mean Ouellet could have been called up earlier.
so you save 1 callup right there
and of course, did we need both Merrill and Gustafsson? ...squeezing them both under the cap meant sending down and then calling up Byron and Romanov after the deadline.
MB said he a definite plan this season for CC two weeks ago ago so I guess we’ll find out soon enough. They’re simply waiting to ship Primeau back to Laval on Sat and replace him w Lindgren, to free up enough cap space thus allowing the use of the last recall on the Hobbit

Everything is a bit dumb IMO, I get the theory of having him travel with the team to get exposure to the big team and the practice, but I'm not sure it beats having actual developmental practices in the farm. A full week practice under Bouchard to get him ready seems like the better option to me, but he would have been able to play one game, and now 3.
I'm still confused about some of those recalls, was Romanov really saving anything on the cap or it was just to give us an option to send him down?
At this point I want to see Gustafsson instead of Drouin, at least he's a real PP specialist.
Yeah my bad, I guess he trimmed the roster to the minimum possible to save a few coins, yet we still don't have enough cap for Caufield.anytime you send someone down, even a min salary guy, you save a little coin

It's the same reason why he didn't call up Ouellet before the deadline then, to save on cap.
His cap management alone is a fireable offense.
He probably tried to trade him until the last minute.the other point is why wait till deadline day to waive Mete? calling up Ouellet could easily have occurred before the deadline....there seems to have been a last minute panic about improving d depth

any update on Petry? i know he returned last night but i could see him being replaced by gustaEverything is a bit dumb IMO, I get the theory of having him travel with the team to get exposure to the big team and the practice, but I'm not sure it beats having actual developmental practices in the farm. I like when a reporter asked MB about this. MB sarcastically said ya we tried , but we couldn't get a 1st round pick for him.He probably tried to trade him until the last minute.
he seemed to really hate Mete since the trade demand hahaI like when a reporter asked MB about this. MB sarcastically said ya we tried , but we couldn't get a 1st round pick for him.
