The National Parity League is all about favorable matchups:

Habs are 5-2 vs Edm
Edm are 5-2 vs Jets
Jets are 5-2 vs Habs

Other than last game vs Jets, no other game has been close to lopsided incl vs Leafs - unlike the entire season series vs Flames

Cgy is simply a bad matchup for Habs - they don’t have enough forwards capable of grinding out a game along boards in the corners, and their young Cs simply are not capable right now to step up and carry the team for a game here & there. Also the hope is the Hobbit could potentially provide for Habs what the elite stars on Leafs & Oilers provide vs Cgy, one chance being enough to finish off a play putting Flames on their heels having to play catch-up and forcing them off their game plan
