no way he's worse than 72 and 52He'll get a call up sooner rather than later
I think moving Barron to free a spot for Mailloux is a no -brainer. It will happen soon enough.no way he's worse than 72 and 52
Matheson is having a rough start, as is our first line, But ironically the only guy challenging him for that #1 spot is Lane Hutson. There will be natural evolution with young players moving into the lineup full-time, I'm not worried. At a certain point, you look at the roster and there's always a moment of, "this can't continue going forward." Example A, Joel Edmundsson a year ago, Example B Kovacevic & Harris this summer.
The Reinbacher injury really opened up Mailloux's path to the NHL. I had assumed that there was going to be one spot during the year for Mailloux/Reinbacher when Savard is inevitably getting traded, and then possibly another one this year or this summer when Barron inevitably gets traded.
Some of the people here that called Matheson a #1 d-man last season are going to need to make up their minds soon, because his time's coming up.

Why ironically? He has elite skills.Matheson is having a rough start, as is our first line, But ironically the only guy challenging him for that #1 spot is Lane Hutson.
