It seems that they have no intention of bringing Turco back, and you can't head into a stretch drive with a goalie who knows he is on the outs.

That's a bad situation.
 
I'd consider that. I'm not sold on Gus. And I wouldn't mind taking a shot on Turco. He is a pretty good goaltender. Plus, we've had some pretty good ****ing luck picking up an old guy off of Dallas's scrap heap.

And I think the Leafs need to bring in an established starter for next season. Find a young guys to have waiting in the wings or keep Gus there -- but for christ's sake we need a real goaltender. We haven't had one since 2003-04. I mean, ****, the two best performances by Leafs goalies post-lockout have been 10-12 game stretches from JS Aubin and Martin Gerber. Put that into perspective.

And especially for a rebuilding team -- you need a goalie that can pick you up. Maybe Gus gets there some day but that's far from certain and looking less and less plausible. Whether it's Vokoun or Turco, if a reliable vet hits the market then the Leafs have to make a play.
 
In Gus's defence, he HAS to have some semblance of a real team out there in front of him and one that is coached by a guy with at least half a brain.

He has neither so he's gonna look bad no matter what till it gets rectified.

Till then, we're all getting rectumfied.

The Leafs and Stars are talking trade. What I am hearing is the discussions revolve around Ribeiro and a mid-level draft pick for Matt Stajan and a decent defensive prospect. Toronto may throw in an expiring salary to even out the numbers. Talks are on-going

That would be a pretty strange trade.

i don't know how I feel about it, either. There is no denying how Ribeiro has produced hte past few seasons.

But ****, I hate that guy.
 
Just FYI, Ribiero is signed for another 3 years and $5M per.

I truly hope Burke disappears mysteriously before he's able to pull the trigger on that dog.

I agree. What is up with you guys? We can't do this fast enough. A guy who bleeds, licks it up and get stronger? Him and Kadri on the same team? Beautiful. Stajan to me, is a nice player, but I way prefer Ribiero.
 
You hate Ribeiro when he's on the opposition, but love him when he's on your team. I'd love him on the Leafs. Exactly the type of shit disturber this team needs.
