Yeah, Rielly for 5 makes sense. Would hate to lose him, but if the Leafs can get an elite center, it's worth it.

I don't think I'd give up Phaneuf or Gardiner though. Sets the team too far back in the present.

Out of Rielly, Phan, and Gardiner, I'd definitely move Rielly for the 5. Anything else, and I'd be a little disappointed.

I see Edler for 5 as the obvious play....based on what we know right now

Least ready. Not so sure he's even ready for the NHL next year. And Gardiner has already proven, to me at least, that he's going to be at the very least a solid #2 for years to come.

Rielly could be better, but I'm not so sure I'd like to bet on a question mark at this stage.

Not sure I'd be so quick to deal Gardiner. He was easily the Leafs' best d-man in the playoffs (along with Franson... but Gardiner was simply dominant at times).
