Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

I have Robertson ahead of Niemela still.

His performances at the same ages were every bit if not more impressive, and imo their shared weaknesses are less of an issue on the wing than they are on defense.

One thing that will be interesting to see is if everyone is just sleeping on Kokkonen. He's not a good skater, or good offensively, and doesn't really pass the eye test but he's played pro since he was 16 as a dman.

I love that he's that high on your list personally and have no issue with it. Wouldn't blink if you pushed Holmberg up a few spots either.

Yeah, I had to include Holmberg, because his last season and a half have been impressive, but didn't really know where to put him because other guys have been putting up good numbers at younger ages (SDA, Villeneuve).

I think I would have Knies over Tverberg.

Top two are definitely Niemala and Robertson. I am somewhat skeptical on Amirov too.

Looking closer at leafman's list I think they're all real prospects except for abbruzzese and SDA.

So I guess that means I move Holmberg and Villeneuve up.

And I'm tempted to add Voit but not yet.

Voit was the other guy I considered adding, but yeah, not enough sample size yet.

I am not sold on Amirov and Knies's upside. Their stats are too poopy for that. But you have to think they are safe bets to be much better 3rd liners than Mikheyev/Engvall. If they have Bunting/Kase/Hyman motors maybe more.
