But won’t have either of those guys if we blow our wad for McD now.

Nah he's not that far ... he dropped off towards the end of his 2018 NHL stint but for the most part he was ~ the same as Moore, and Moore is a 4C in the NHL.

Not to mention, if your first 3 C's are Matthews, Tavares and Kadri ... your 4C can play some really easy minutes

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but Goat very much was not the same as Moore.

Goat was one of the top 4 or 5 worst performing players to take a regular NHL shift this year.

I really don't think he's a guy we should be penciling onto next year's roster.

I've almost changed my mind about Weber as long as we could get him for ~6M. He probably plays for another 4 years before he retires and could add him without giving up timmy.

This is where I'm forced to point out that the hockey world felt 18 months ago that Nashville got jobbed in the deal by only getting subban and Weber hasn't exactly declined in ability or reputation since then.

Weber still has big value. He's the king of that type of big stiff defender that gms still go stupid for..except he's actually really good and not shite like gudbranson

I'd be surprised if Timmy was ready next year...but that is exactly what I want to see in the ahl right now. Those two playing 23+ minutes a night.

I knew us losing to the Stanley Cup Champs would get all this going. Just sign Willy and Auston as cheap as you can. Or dump them. Set even a newwer prec8ident up> Its the Shanahan plan. Look at his face when he won, the first pick. Did that not look like a guy who knew the result beforehand Stanley wil be here, when its paid for.
Its all bought and paid for.

And ya, Johsson is going to land here , overcooked like most Babcock non, first round bait lands.

And really, just look at the impact of Dermott in on D. Seamless and a huge addition.

Kapanen likely would be one too if Babs gave him the opportunity, and maybe Johnsson too. Would be nice to see them get a shot now.

kappy, leivo, and brown all had more impressive ahl scoring than johnsson.
