So...Arturs Irbe was elite because Latvia had no one better in house?
Yes, in Latvia he was elite.
In Canada Price is elite.

In Canada Price is elite.
Price definitely deserves to be on Team Canada....but that's not the highest bar in the world.
Still, Price is actually legitamtely putting in a very good well above average season.....for the 2nd time in his career.
Love the sample size here.
He probably deserves to be there, based on the internal competition that he has in Canada, but im not sure he should be mentioned with the Rask, Miller, Lundqvist group as elite lock tenders for their nations
.904% since being selected to Team Canada on January 7th.Yes, 5 games. Once the team was picked the topic turned to Price vs. Luongo and recently Price >>> Luongo.
Yikes man.Umm, by definition it does.

So I was big enough to concede being wrong about Ryan/Kessel, will Habs fans do the same about their comparison of Subban/Karlsson?
D E.Karlsson (23): 58gms, 15gls, 54pts (82gms, 21gls, 76pts)
D P.K.Subban (24): 58gms, 8gls, 39pts (82gms, 11gls, 55pts)
Specifically, HP was saying their offense wasn't that far off.
Mindz also made a few mentions that if Karlssons offense hovers around PPG (like his Norris season) that he's a perennial contender and any defensive issues he might be perceived to have are off-set.
Looks like he's doing it again.
No actually I never said their offense wasn't far off but rather that last year Subban's offense was similar to Karlsson's offense from his Norris year and also said what Mindz said. If EK can be way ahead of the rest of the league in dman scoring then he can be a Norris candidate/winner.
In fact you've taken umbrage with me repeatedly calling him the best offensive dman in the league and not giving him any credit defensively. So what's changed?
He's still the best offensive dman in the league. Hell, he's 6 points ahead of Keith. But I'd still give Keith the Norris (to this point) over him. He's far better defensively.
Without a doubt. Hell I bet I would be higher on him that Cork is right now, if he was a Habs. Spectacular player.I would take a defenseman who scores 75 points any day and just deal with the defensive mistakes, for sure.
Yeah he just is not good defensively at all. But still a great player. That said, from what the games I've seen I think Karlsson's looked even worse defensively this year.
I never hear Hab fans complain about a media bias. They complain about the potatoes in the French media who are haters towards Anglos.I always laugh when habs fans cry about their media bias.
Meh, power play points count too. That said, I didn't expect him to win but I was happy that he did and don't believe it's the farce you guys think it is. He was definitely the highest profile dman last year and I'm sure that helped him win.Subban wins a norris for a half season of PP production.
I've always thought that people were high on Price's potential for the most part... but really, is his reputation any different for the likes of Miller and Ward? Other guys that have only had one or two really good seasons and are still looked at as elite.Price is worshipped as elite despite rarely being that good.
First I've heard of this. Hell, even the biggest Hab homers think he's a really good 2nd line 2-way centre.Pleks was respected as a legit #1 C for years for some crazy reason.
Habsy, go back to bed and try this again in an hour.
You're all over the map here.
5 games? 5 friggin' games, Habsy?
