I don’t think so either, but Gallagher still has some jam in him that might interest them, but it won’t add a lot of value to the tradeNobody cares about the “local boy” angle.

Nope. Not one bit.Any interest in JT Miller if made available? He's a bit older for our core group but I'd think hard about it.
and Gallagher doesn't quit on the team like Miller did a month agoI don’t think so either, but Gallagher still has some jam in him that might interest them, but it won’t add a lot of value to the trade
Honestly, no. There's no rhyme or reason to it.And in that research did a reason arise? Pretty peculiar.
Contract doesn't bother me as much, 8M cap hit isn't that crazy and he's the type of player that can still be useful with reduced production, kinda like Pavelski.Forgetting JT Miller's contract for just a moment: The price it would cost us just to acquire him would already be significantly steep. As mentioned, he's a premium player coming off three consecutive elite seasons. I'm not sure there's any realistic price I'd be comfortable with to acquire him.
But when you take his contract into consideration? No thank you, I'm not in the least bit interested.
J Barron did not even have confidence in his offensive game when he was traded, complete wreck.Given what Sal thinks of Justin Barron, I’m astonished that he would want any part of the forward version of him, Elias Pettersson. Makes no sense. Must be the Rosayyyy talking.
Dude was over PPG his first of two career playoff appearances albeit he sucked last springHave you ever noticed him in a big/important game? Me neither. Not interested in him in any way.
I demand to move some trashJT Miller is a premium player, not a dump. We’re in no position to make demands like that
Nucks would love some cap relief at some pointContract doesn't bother me as much, 8M cap hit isn't that crazy and he's the type of player that can still be useful with reduced production, kinda like Pavelski.
I don't think we're good trade partners though for what the Canucks would be looking for. I'd trade Dach for JT in an instant though, but Vancouver won't go for that.
Cmon now, one doesn’t get 102pts followed by 89pts while being defensively responsible from the get go by pure luck.Given what Sal thinks of Justin Barron, I’m astonished that he would want any part of the forward version of him, Elias Pettersson. Makes no sense. Must be the Rosayyyy talking.
Moot, not mute, but yes I agree. Not taking JT without some trash money going back
Mute point he wont be a Hab
Gallagher isn't really a local boy. He played junior in Vancouver but he was born in Edmonton.I don’t think so either, but Gallagher still has some jam in him that might interest them, but it won’t add a lot of value to the trade
Played minor hockey in BC as well but sure.Gallagher isn't really a local boy. He played junior in Vancouver but he was born in Edmonton.
Sometimes I feel like that’s the only acceptable deal for some around hereGally for McDavid with 50% salary retention
Yes, but here's the problem: To realistically acquire him, we have to give up assets that would, in theory, "soften" the blow for the large caphit we'd be taking on. The Patrik Laine types, who are disgruntled addicts without a good thing to say about anyone or anything in the organization they're in? That those teams have to pay to give him away? Not trying to be mean with Laine, but that's what happened. We were given a second round pick to take on his contract.Contract doesn't bother me as much, 8M cap hit isn't that crazy and he's the type of player that can still be useful with reduced production, kinda like Pavelski.

You’re overthinking it. We have ton of cap space, a pretty decent prospect pipeline including Demidov who will be on an entry level contract, and big contracts expiring in 2 years. Plus Vancouver won’t want a future only deal as they want to win now. Let’s say for discussion that we trade Dach, one of Mailloux/Engstrom and Cgy 1st. We can very easily manage that contract with the Demidov, Hage, Beck, Reinbacher, etc, coming up in the next years.Yes, but here's the problem: To realistically acquire him, we have to give up assets that would, in theory, "soften" the blow for the large caphit we'd be taking on. Let's say we get Miller, it would cost us, say, Good Prospect A + Good Prospect B + 1st round pick. Say, two of Hage/Mailloux/Beck/Dobes/Engstrom and Calgary's first round pick. Just for discussion sake, not trying to turn this into a "That's way too much! / That's way too little!" debate.
Assuming the two players we traded turn into NHLers, they make the Miller contract much easier to digest because we don't need to pay any of those guys any real money for the majority of Miller's time here. It's one of my biggest gripes with The Charlatan, who had Price & Weber/Subban combined for 25% +/- of the team's cap but no cheap talent to surround those two with.
I'd be much more interested in finding out what's going on with Mason MacTavish and what the asking price for him is.
