Les Habitants Prospects Thread

So many great attributes. But what stands right out to me is his wrister from the point. It's as heavy as many player's slappers and he doesn't need a long release. Very heavy shot. Between him on the right and X on the left, we finally have a couple D who are a legit point-shot threat. Not like Methason who waits patiently for someone to get in position to block the shot before he lets it go.

Petry struggled with that in Edmonton for the longest time

That’s why writing him off is a little pre mature
Not just that, but Petry was never able to handle the pressure & minutes of a top pairing d-man. We saw it that year when Weber missed 2/3 of the season. He had offensive potential as a prospect but it never materialized in Deadmonton.

There's a game highlight of Deadmonton against Toronto a few weeks before he was traded here. I had watched a lot of Deadmonton games that year and saw him a lot, but that game highlight captured exactly why I didn't want him. He was so bad. I never would have imagined him turning into the player he did while he was here.

#2 for Deadmonton:

I like Ergstrom but he's future trade bait...can't have two 165 pounders defending the slot in the bigs
The 6-foot-2, 193 lb rearguard also recorded four assists in 15 playoff games, helping his team earn the SHL SM Silver Medal.

Totally agreed on trade bait , too many D in the pipeline

I stand corrected: DB has him at 6’0, 168 lbs

There’s often a discrepancy but that seems like a different person.

Engstrom might be trade bait, regardless of his size.

There are just too many bodies with not enough space to keep them all.
