Necas Watch Thread...SIGNED

Again, no surprises there ... and he neglects to mention that his agent has been negotiating with Carolina in the meantime. Necas always seems to forget to mention stuff like that when he talks to Czech media ... or they forget to mention it. And I'm playing exceptionally fast and loose with the meaning of the word "forget"

It’s $6 million in the first year, split equally between salary and signing bonus. Year 2 is $1 million signing bonus and $6 million salary.

Per CapWages, which looks an awful lot like CapFriendly did, that leaves a hair over $8 million for Seth for this year.

IIRC, it should look like CapFriendly because that's where their people who didn't go on the Caps payroll ended up.

Yeah, they show the Canes with 14 forwards and Morrow as a 7th D, none of which is likely. Even if you don't strip off Fast's number for LTIR (iffy to probable) then you're still around $2 million heavy by PuckPedia's math. They're showing $6.4 million in cap space. It's really more like $8.3 million ... maybe a bit more.

And I saw somewhere that Carolina wasn't expecting Fast to be ready for the start of the season, and if that's the case then he moves from maybe to almost certainly on the hitting LTIR meter. Then if and when he gets healthy, you figure something out. Bottom line, Necas deal doesn't take Jarvis' long term deal off the table.
