New Canadian Politics Thread

I'm surprised at how well the Liberals did in Toronto. I thought they'd win the most seats, but I figured there'd be some orange on the map too.

In a lot of Toronto ridings, strategic voting by progressive voters isn't even really necessary with how tiny the CPC support is. But the NDP still got slaughtered.

the environmental movement and gay rights/marriage rights are....right wing movements?
Did I say that? I said they're conservative. wtf yourself.

It's really provincial and ahistorical to see environmentalism as left wing. It grew out of the European right. Hitler and the Nazis were big environmentalists. Globally, the environmental movement is well populated with right wing racists who believe that population control (i.e., genocide) is the answer. Yes, lots of lefties are environmentalists. That doesn't mean it's left wing. Far from it.

What are you laughing at zeke, your ignorance?

Explain how it is that environmentalism is left wing. Because you see it as such? It's left wing only insofar at it's anti-corporate, which excludes the entire climate change movement (it has massive corporate backing). There is nothing inherently left wing about conservation or protecting the land and water. It's deeply conservative activity.

Trudeau better make a damn good speech tonight.

Also

- No more cosplay
- Is no more brown/black face too much to ask?
- Speak exactly 50% less than you currently do

Pass something like national pharmacare, follow the above 3 steps and they probably win a majority again in 3 years or so.

What is left wing to you?
