New Canadian Politics Thread

If the Conservatives existed as they should, a western reform party and another conservative party, this would never, ever be close. The crying about the popular vote (which westerners never gave a fuck about when Harper was serving up 36% majorities and they got to run the entire show) is delicious.

I gotta say I kinda love the proud secularism of the bloq...even though it's just a cover for racism.

Overall results tonight very mixed. Libs win a "strong" minority, but the vote pct is very low, falling behind the CPC even. Greens gain big vote share, but only add a couple new seats. NDP loses big, but they have enough to be the balance of power and prevented the total collapse that looked possible a month ago. CPC failed to move past the base, and really didn't make much gains on the whole.

LIBS 2015 ---> 2019

ON: 80 ---> 78
QC: 40 ---> 35
BC: 17 ---> 11
NS: 11 ---> 10
NB: 10 ---> 6
NF: 7 ----> 6
MB: 7 ---> 4
PE: 4 ---> 4
AB: 4 ----> 0
TR: 3 ----> 2
SK: 1 ----> 0

Pretty even loss across the board.

I swear Trudeau waited until Scheer started speaking to make his entry as his HQ to start his speech...they're about to cut from Scheer's speech to go to Trudeau, aren't they?
