New Canadian Politics Thread

My father in-law showed up there. I had the pleasure of listening to Mrs. Preston chewing him out on the phone last night. Dude has gone off the deep-end. Was super left leaning for his whole life but these last five years have been a lot of posting news from Russian sources on Facebook and bashing Trudeau. So for about an hour it was Mrs. Preston asking him why he hates Trudeau so much without receiving a single answer and scolding him for helping push the agenda of white supremacists, as an immigrant from Nicaragua himself. "Sometimes the enemy has to be your friend."

And for the record Mrs. Presto despises Trudeau too. She just wanted to see if her dad could articulate where his fiery rage over him came from. He could not.

Hey Mrs. Preston used that line on him! He kept saying he doesn't care and that it's more important to him to get Trudeau out. But also that everyone was really nice there and he met some other Latinos and bla bla bla. He's too far gone and tbh his transformation from a "woke" lefty to this has been striking. He is the type to take extremist positions tho so I'm not too surprised.
 
There are some people in our society who do have legitimate beefs.

But it’s definitely not these clueless trailer park hammerheads.
 
“Woke” is a vague cop out, as is whining about a politician (who is no more than a symbol at this point.) It’s a shield to avoid confronting tangible and specific bigotry and resentment.

Whenever one moans about wokeness, it would interesting to press for specifics. Hate women? Immigrants? Visible minorities? Religious minorities? LBGTQ? Educated people?

Make them own their shitbaggery.

Their whole lexicon is insulting to anyone who is capable of any original thought, regardless of their ideology. Woke, cancel, freedom, cuck, snowflake, etc, etc. It's all meant to insult anyone who asks them to show their work on what they're actually angry about in any given issue they're raging about. Largely because articulating their rage gets them labelled pretty quickly (and accurately) as some form of 'ist'.
