Moncton policing is outsourced to the RCMP. There is no city force.

It is expensive.
Most of the BC Lower Mainland uses the RCMP instead of their own city cops and the results are thoroughly "meh" as to their effectiveness. The RCMP is really only supposed to be for communities with tax bases too small to support local police. That doesn't describe places such as Surrey, Burnaby, and North Vancouver, who could all easily fund their own force.
 
Haven’t delved too much into this but seems like a good plan to weed out normal Canadians who want to protest which they have every right to, and disruptive illegal blockades funded by lord knows who.

I’m sure Theo Fleury and co will call it communism regardless tho.

Oh yeah, I expect a lot of people complaining about their first amendment rights being violated with this act.

He said that the invoking of emergency measures is a "power grab" by a desperate politician or some such bullshit. Many corrected him. Like, why would you need to "grab" power you already have by virtue of winning a recent election?
