New Canadian Politics Thread

One problem with Orr's opinion, is that Greztky didn't wear the Canadian colors on a night when it mattered. And like Orr, he has dedicated his politics to supporting an uneducation idiot who is threatening the soverignty of the country that they claim to love.

Gretzky is a whiny baby, that needs the support of Orr and Trump to defend his actions.

Nothing is more anathema to Trump supporters like Wayne than the idea of facing consequences or backlash for your actions and moral choices.

He’s probably been whining, crying, bitching and moaning to everyone in his orbit about it.

so those who are voting today (hoping it’s all of you in Ontario) where’s the best place for your vote if you aren’t going PC? Is it better to vote the way you want or pop it on whatever is more likely to overcome Ford for better numbers?

I usually check one of those sites that tell you the best vote to keep the cons out. I think it’s called Vote Well. I’m going liberal, it’s close in my area.

If you’re in a riding where the PC’s have a chance, your best approach would be to check a few different polling sites and then vote for whichever one of the Liberal or NDP candidate is the front-runner.

For me, the PC’s have literally never won my riding in the 26 years of its existence and haven’t even reached 20% of the vote for the past 25. So I’m pretty much free to vote for my preference, which is typically going to be Liberal, unless the Dippers are running a particularly good individual candidate and/or if the Libs have a particularly shitty candidate.

What is "the new blue" party?

Is it just a further right thing or did the PPC rebrand

Did a bit of reading, and it appears it was founded by a former PC MPP (Jim Karahalios) who got booted out of the party back in 2020 for being an anti-masker/Covid truther shithead that came out against Ford’s public health measures.

Uhhh…Bobby literally took out a full page newspaper ad ahead of the election endorsing Trump. Not sure how you can possibly get more public than that:

That’s why it was totally unsurprising to see Bobby ride to Wayne’s defense in that Op-Ed. MAGA shitbirds of a feather flock together.
If Orr had taken out that ad in 2016 I'd give him a pass because a lot of people didn't think he'd be as bad as he turned out. But Orr placed this ad in 2020, when he, and everyone else, knew how terrible Trump is.

Both Orr and Gretzky were great hockey players. That will never be in dispute.

Their politics however, show exactly where their intellectual skill set ends.
Orr got hoodwinked by a grifter named Eagleson (as did many players, all of similar intelligence) and he's still getting grifted today, like a lot of older white people are.

Or lack of.
Unlike Orr, Gretzky always needed a hired goon to ride shotgun because he couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper sack. That's why I always maintain that despite the discrepancy in the numbers, Orr was the greatest, not 99.

But like Gretzky, Orr is thicker than a sack of shit and easily grifted. Trump is just another Eagleson that Orr never saw coming.

Just like he was always trying to work the refs during his playing days.

What area east of Jarvis do you live in?

There used to be a strategic voting website.

Votewell.ca

I voted Liberal today, but this is a hard PC area

Pretty sure votewell still exists.

Wife and I are wandering over to our polling station shortly, but yeah this is a solid blue riding. The Liberal candidate didn't even bother to release a headshot
