New Canadian Politics Thread

They might, but I don't know if gamesmanship and memes are going to play very well right now. We kind of have some serious grown up stuff to take care of.
Agreed, but it’s not clear they have anything else in their arsenal other than gamesmanship and memes.

I think Carney would do well to demonstrate strong ties with the international community. PP would not be embraced by Europe or any other of our allies. Probably also will spend a lot of time in Quebec.

Yeah, he needs to hit the ground running. As important as the election is, a lot of what is going to get him elected is what he's doing between now and election day to set up his vision for transforming the economy, our international relationships, etc.

The potential upside here is that the path to a majority is in fact there (which is fucking amazing to say in 2025 about the Liberals) and should he pull that off, he will have as clear a mandate to remake Canada for the future as any PM has ever had.

Harper wasn't worth voting for either tbh. He was just the first of these weirdo Canadian right wingers off of the Preston Manning assembly line of white guys in their early 20's taken in and groomed to be federal politicians.
Oh sure, he isnt drama teacher and has biggest accomplishments being born with name

And what the actual fuck did Harper ever do? A Bachelors and Masters in economics from the thoroughly mediocre but far right wing University of Calgary and then straight into right wing politics and lobbying. His only real job was working in the mail room at Imperial Oil in Edmonton, a job he only got because his dad worked as an accountant there.
