New Canadian Politics Thread

And what the actual fuck did Harper ever do? A Bachelors and Masters in economics from the thoroughly mediocre but far right wing University of Calgary and then straight into right wing politics and lobbying. His only real job was working in the mail room at Imperial Oil in Edmonton, a job he only got because his dad worked as an accountant there.
At least he did that and didn’t use name to go directly to pm office

Trudeau didn't use his name to go directly to the PM office. He was, as you said, a teacher, and then he was an MP. He didn't just show up one day. He worked his way to where he got. He wasn't groomed to be a political hack at the U of C like Harper and Poilievre were. And his father taught him about noblesse oblige, which is why he has human empathy and CPC hacks like Pee-Pee have none.

Please keep this bs to stoner kids

I didn’t agree with much of his politics, but Harper was a smart guy.

JTFart, not so much. NepoBaby.

The problem with Harp is that he didn’t have the balls to use his vast knowledge….

He mostly betrayed his smarts and conservative chops, pandering to voters whether it was reducing the GST or handing out various tax credits like they were candy

So lowering gst is bad thing now?

Yeah, a lot of small potatoes. And a lot of his government’s stuff was chucked out by the Supreme Court, likely due to the pandering. And they likely knew it would get tossed, so it was performative and a waste of time.

Taxing my consumption (outside of basic exemptions like food, rent, meds) is way better and fairer than taxing my income.
So you had no problems when JT killed tax breaks for public transportation use ?
Tax incentives for families with one income source as tax break benefit rich also removed even though it did not live for long
Yes avoiding buying shit might save you from paying sales taxes but these days everything is taxed so no choice there

Bragging about low federal debt while provinces drowning in debt is good thing?
How much excitement will bring bankruptcies of 2-3 provinces?

Please point out a post where I said anything good about Trudeau on the points you’re making above.

The best part about debating Canadian magas now is that when I attack pp or the conservative party, they'll continue to respond with something negative about Trudeau.

1. No one likes Trudeau, not even libs. I'm not a blind cheerleader that cheers for the red team without using my brain and evaluating what they actually did. Try that some time, magas.

2. He's not running
