I know, right? I was trying to place them, too. The DJ who played them didn't say, or if he did when he debuted the song, I missed it. Heard the song again on his show earlier today.

It is pretty cool. I listened several times yesterday.

Jenny Lee Lindberg, who goes by jennylee, is the bassist and vocalist for the all-female group Warpaint. She released a "double A side" single(s) the other day. This is the song I heard first, on Nic Harcourt's show (again). The song is called "Tickles".

Oh, and her sister, Shannyn Sossamon (the group's original drummer) is an actress whose best known role was as Lady Jocelyn in "A Knight's Tale".

Oh, and this new one from Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), "Grass Jeans", is pretty cool.

Didn't listen to much other than Christmas music over the holidays. But my local favorite station played their Top 10 most played songs of the year. If you've not heard these, there's some good stuff here.

Got away from this. Want to come back with a few good new ones I've heard. This multi-talented artist goes by the name Lava La Rue. This is her "lesbian anthem" called "Vest & Boxers" (a cheeky reference to what she called "the dyke uniform")

Indie/world/electronica outfit Beirut is back with "Fyodor Dormant". Such an interesting sound, unlike most out there

And Red Hot Chili Peppers is back with their first new music in SIX (!) years, and their first in SIXTEEN years with guitarist John Frusciante (who rejoined the band in 2019). This is "Black Summer"

Dayton, Ohio's Guided By Voices is in the midst of a prolific period, as they will be releasing their 6th LP since 2020 this coming March. The first single off what will be their 35th LP is called "Excited Ones".

Portland by way of Alaska band Portugal. The Man. has released a new song called "What, Me Worry?"

And Eddie Vedder has released his third solo LP, "Earthling". This is the single "Brother the Cloud"
